This time tomorrow we will be on the first of many planes on our way to Paraguay! I'm finally getting excited! But I'm definitely going to have an overweight bag. There's no way around it. plus, Brian is going to have to check 3 bags! We have to get all the gear for 2 teams down there between the 4 of us who are leaving from Vancouver... not an easy task.
I know I've shared lots about our hectic stressful lives lately, sorry about that. I was just trying to think of lighthearted stories I could share... But there haven't really been any. Yesterday in the office, I was about 2 inches away from crying (because of another passport issue) and announced to the males in the office that I may start crying but not to worry because I just need to get it out. Some of the younger ones just sort of looked at me funny and the married ones nodded and went back to work. You know how awkward guys get around crying girls. ;o) But you'll be happy to know that even though my eyes filled with tears, I didn't actually cry. I didn't want to weird out our new interns too much and leave them with the only memory of me as the crazy emotional chick.
Throughout these past chaotic weeks, I have been making more of an effort to actually spend time with the Lord. Granted that doesn't always happen, but I've been reading through the Psalms again and I'm just reminded of how easy I have it. Yeah I have plenty of messes to clean up so to speak, but I don't have random dudes (including the king or my own offspring) hunting me down. David does such a good job of pointing me back to the right perspective. I really can take hope, be patient, and wait on the Lord. I pray that each night I can rest in this truth.
In the mean time, if you would like to follow along with us while we're abroad, we will be updating a blog with the happenings. The first week will be quite busy as we will be running Training Camp (the team gets to know each other). But we (that would be me and the mouse in my pocket) hope to update it every few days. So we're a few days away from leaving and things are finally feeling close to being ready to go! I'm getting more excited to be in Paraguay... but I'm not looking forward to the 40 some hours of transit again. I don't know how Brian and I keep getting stuck with these donkey flights. I know it's possible to get to Paraguay in just about 24 hours. Anyway, it should be worth it and this time next week we'll be a few days into our first ever international Soccer Project!
Please keep us in your prayers these next few days. We're wrapping up lots of details and thankfully our intern, Benjamin, has taken a big load off of us. We have our bunny sitters lined up for the summer and our apartment is close to being clean enough! We're finding it hard to quit working at the end of the day simply because there's always something to work on. Pray that we will get good rest these next few nights and make it to Paraguay in good mental and physical health.
I will leave you with this relaxing image :o)
