We've been CRAZY busy for what seems like the past 5 weeks. I know we haven't been busy all that time, I'm just saying it feels like it. This past weekend we worked to get the AIA women's soccer team off to Paraguay successfully and worry-free. It wasn't easy but we did it. The weekend before that was full of packing up our belongings in anticipation of moving and then other soccer stuff. The weekend before that we were returning from our trip to Nicaragua. The weekend before that we were leaving for Nicaragua. And so on.

I've posted lots of pictures from our trip to Nicaragua on our Flickr. So check those out and pretend like you traveled with us!

a gray kind of day

I took this picture outside of our house today. It stopped raining for a bit this afternoon and the sun tried to come out. This is after about, oh I don't know, 6 straight months of rain and clouds. I'm so ready for summer. It feels like it's been cold and rainy since October.

I guess I'll get my fill of warm weather this week. We're headed down to Nicaragua tomorrow for the week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for us there!

After hearing all about the crazy weather lately in Myanmar and the southern States, it makes me ask the question: "Is this new? Or has extreme weather always existed like this, but we just never heard about it?"

With increasing technology, I can see pictures of the devastation within minutes on CNN.com. Friends of ours are even in Myanmar and the surrounding islands now.

It's so easy to get overwhelmed with the constant barrage of bad news at home and abroad. But we can't let it control our lives so much that our normal way of life is disturbed. Like the Beatles said, life goes on. La la la la life goes on.

This past week, my best friend from back home got to come out and visit. It was so great! Thank you to her husband for lending her to me for so long. :o)

We explored all over Vancouver... including IKEA, Burnaby Mountain, downtown, Stanley Park, and White Rock. We saw this pair of bald eagles in Stanley Park, it was quite cool. I'll post some more pictures of our adventures. You can see even more on the Flickr site. (Or scroll down and click on the link on the right.)
